OOTD: Romper Wonder

Rompers aren't really my thing because it isn't flattering on me. But I found this really cute piece in a boutique called Doll House. March is my birthday month (Yay!). I kinda promised myself to embrace change and keep trying something new. Deciding to wear this to celebrate my name day, I consider "baby steps" in making these small promises come to life. With my take on rompers, I am now officially converted. LOL.

Hi, everyone! I miss the blogging community a lot. I hope y'all enjoyed greeting 2017 as much as I did. It's just timely to reflect every time the year ends. Pretty sure a lot has made a list of resolutions. But that isn't working for me. Hahaha. I did write down the things that I look forward to this year, though!

I would like you to meet our little cutiepoo, Toby. Yes, there's no denying how cute he is. But if you have no idea how to take care of a dachshund, this kind of breed will surely drive you nuts. Crazy as it may sound, my family and I feel like superheros, for keeping a pet is both a privilege and a responsibility - no kidding.

REViEW | Newt Scamander and the Night Butterfly

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander, Tales of Beedle the Bard with commentaries from Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore and Quidditch Through the Ages by Kennilworthy Whisp. These Hogwarts books have been sitting on my bookshelf for a few years now. Looking at them puts a big smile on my face. I can still remember how elusive this collection was way back and how I spent my energy to bring these home. I literally didn't stop visiting bookstores until I got my hands on these hard bounds! Sorry, I am not sorry for the nerd talk. It's just that, I am such a Potterhead!

That being said, I didn't pass up seeing "Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them" in theaters! 

OUTFiT | Which Season?

Why, hello lovelies! Hope you all are doing amazing!

Because my feed is full of wonderful fall fashion tips, I will be doing the opposite. LOL. What can I say? I only get to experience 2 seasons where I live - hot and hotter. So, no matter how I want to put on a faux fur or velvet or cute thermal tights, it will never happen here. Unless, of course, I finally decide to fly and experience Winter, Fall or Spring. And so for today's blog post, here's my attempt to atleast feel spring, which according to my friends who live in a 4-season country, is the best equinox yet.

A snotty co-worker asked me this question way back. But despite her eye roll and sarcasm, I wasn't offended. Though my career in Human Resources has really nothing to do with my principle to dress appropriately for work, it did empower what I already know. Thanks to my parents, my sisters and I were able to understand the importance of adhering fitting dress codes at an early age.

Hello, everyone! Hello, November!

Okay, here's a confession. Start of the year, what I have been doing for Sugary Fancies is work on my supposed weekly blog posts. The usual - hit compose, come up with the title, place my photos on a table via html then save it as draft. I've been doing this for more than half of 2016 that I was able to store around fifteen (15) rough outlines waiting to be published!!  

ThOUGhTS | An Outfit Repeat and an Overhaul on my Point of View

Last weekend, I kinda experienced a crisis tagging along my younger sister, Hershey, who is a budding pro photographer. Her itinerary was to snap official pictures of stores in this posh mall located in the business district with her group of shutterbugs. When she announced that she will be with her "blogger" sister, aka --- me, the lot informed her that they would like take photos which made me feel embarrassed, awkward and unworthy.

OUTFiT | Yay for Denim Jeans!

Unlike most girls, it's a little difficult for me to find the perfect jeans because of my awfully weird body structure. That is why I only own 2 pairs. Entering almost every store and coming out empty handed is yes, frustrating at times! I guess ya'll will understand why I felt discovering this denim on a heap of overruns was a miracle!

Excitingly challenging - this is the best description I have for the months that I was gone and disconnected in the blogging community. For those who were asking where I was --- well, I accepted a new job (away from home) which encouraged me to optimally perform and thrivingly develop my proficiency. I was so busy that the rest of the world kinda faded away. 

And so to commemorate this interlude because I was intentionally full, here's a literal translation inspired by one of the most hard working insects in the animal kingdom - the honey bees.

There are too many things to ponder -- things encountered the previous year -- that I was focused on bettering my being. Contemplating the past can help determine your future because we don't learn from experience, we learn from reflecting on experience. Will always be grateful for ALL my practical contact of facts and events, be it good or bad.

Hi, everyone! Reinventing clothes is something I have to master since packing light is probably one of the skills that I need to improve much on.

There is always that question before you leave the house if one is invited to an occasion. What to wear? And if one cannot decide, the seemingly second question will be "Is it better to be overdressed or underdressed?" Perhaps I am one of those who would like to look a little nice before walking out door. No, I do not exactly mind what others think of me. How I look at myself is more important. That's why I pick clothes that I believe will bring out the best version of me.

Having worn monochrome today made me think of its representation. Do you know that white, according to color psychology, means new beginnings. Just like a blank canvass waiting to be written or painted upon. While the color black means power and control. Well I neither have the latter. But I definitely am looking forward to my new beginnings no matter how inchoate they may be.

I know by now you all are aware of my love for sneakers! They're super comfy, stylish and fun. It goes with any wardrobe! And when I say any wardrobe, I literally mean, ANY. A friend of mine wore a pair of bright pink converse when she walked down the aisle! YES! She exudes such confidence she was able to carry the unconventional pretty well!
