Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander, Tales of Beedle the Bard with commentaries from Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore and Quidditch Through the Ages by Kennilworthy Whisp. These Hogwarts books have been sitting on my bookshelf for a few years now. Looking at them puts a big smile on my face. I can still remember how elusive this collection was way back and how I spent my energy to bring these home. I literally didn't stop visiting bookstores until I got my hands on these hard bounds! Sorry, I am not sorry for the nerd talk. It's just that, I am such a Potterhead!
That being said, I didn't pass up seeing "Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them" in theaters!

Oh, my! Can I just say that there's just a lot that I want to share in today's blog! LOL. Please, please bear with me. Okay, let me start with the movie. I know JK Rowling's last book about Harry Potter will be The Cursed Child. But hearing Hedwig's Theme on the big screen again made my insides explode with excitement! My visual imagination of Newton Scamander was on point. Eddie Redmayne delivered the part so well that I didn't even see an ounce of Marius Pontmercy (Les Miserables) in him. This movie was focused on Newt Scamander's adventures. But I am sure that for us, with Pottermore accounts, the introduction of MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America) and Ilvermorny, the Wizarding School in the North America was beyond amazing!
Reviewing Mr. Newton Scamander's biography |
I think there are more than ten (10) fantastic beasts in the movie. And if my memory serves me right, I saw the Niffler, Demiguise, Bowtruckle, Billywig, Erumpet, Occamy, Swooping Evil and ofcourse, the Thunderbird (which happens to by my house in Ilvermorny - I'm a Ravenclaw in Hogwarts).
It was such a fun weekend! Watched this movie with my fambam. I've enjoyed spending the weekend with them. Quite amusing to hear my Papa talk about the spells and even relate it to the first Harry Potter movie!
Speaking of fun, this is best way to describe this dress I bought online. I fell in-love with the silhouette, plus, the butterfly is just too cute! This piece is also comfortable and modish- perfect definition for my style aesthetic.
