FOoD | An Afternoon Stroll and More

I love hanging out with my crazy cousins! Well, in this photo, “cousin”. I didn’t get the chance to take pictures of the uber fun-ness that occurred the entire day. But trust me, it involved a lot of laughter, street food, more food, insane karaoke and an exhilarating motorcycle ride.

The long afternoon begins with a quiet stroll at the park. The University of the Philippines’ campus is a inviting sight. It never fails to provide the right amount of serenity, joy, inspiration and abode to those who seek. Well, who better to join me in my temporary madness but my cousin, girlfriend and best friend, Mae! Long walks and talks are just a few of the typical things girls enjoy. So, I guess it was a good idea to leave the boys at home. Haha.

For my Filipino followers, you already know that we are headed to “Mang Larry’s”, a well-known barbecue stall in the campus. So famous, in fact, that it was featured many times for documentaries on TV. While some are after the exotic chicken intestine barbecue aka “isaw”, my cousin and I went straight to the all-time-favorite street food --- FISHBALLS!!!

Fishballs, Kwek Kwek and Squidballs
“Made from cuttlefish or pollock, deep friend and served with a sweet and spicy sauce or vinegar with diced onions and garlic or with a thick, black, sweet and sour sauce.” Source: Wikipedia

Okay, there is no exact description of how yummy it is! You have to taste it for yourself. Holla if anyone of you plans to visit the Philippines and I’ll gladly be your tour guide ***wink***
She's been craving for these ever since she got home from Dubai
My gorgeous cousin, Mae.

There were more sumptuous Filipino dishes that I consumed that day. But I’ll save them for later because my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Hahaha.

Has anyone of you tried street or exotic foods? Hope you can share your thoughts with me! Drop me a line!

Till next blog!

  1. Hey, nice post. I'm not really a fan of street food. I've tried but I just don't feel that good, not even in restaurants. I guess, I'm just to picky. However, what I dooo love and enjoy is long walks. I love those tree pics and your outfit. Nice job.
    Love, kscultus.

    1. Katty! Yay! Thanks for visiting my blog. It's not as beautiful as yours but I hope I get there :-) I understand your street food apprehension. I was before but the "street foods" at UP are safe. All vendors and stalls need to pass safety inspection every quarter :-) I hope you get to try it when you decided to visit! I'll take you!

      Much love,
