OUTFiT | The Stylish Streets of Manila

My usual weekend errand turned into something exciting when I saw these three young friends, chit chatting on the road, on my way to the grocery store. Their practical yet simple sense of style caught my eye. I ended up getting to know them a little and learned about their various definition of "fashion" and how they incorporate it with their kind of lifestyle. Listening to these kids suddenly inspired me to go on a hunt for Manila's everyday fashionista.

When "Everyday is a fashion show and the world is your runway", artistry is endless!  It was a pretty exciting project in which I am delighted to share with you all! Here are the real guys and girls that add color to the streets of Manila. Hope you enjoy this sneak peek of what my city is like in terms of fashion and style!

1) Shieg Isaac - Quirky Love

Age: 32

Occupation: Digital Marketing Manager

Who is your fashion inspiration?

- "No one in particular. But I like Japanese and Korean fashion. They're fresh, strong trends of the age and has sense of uniqueness."

What is your sense of style?

- "Weird and whimsical! On typical days, either I dress up or dress down. If I feel lazy, too busy or not in the mood, I just wear a cute tee and jeans. I dress up if I'm in the mood, in which I always am!"

2)  Triscia Erika Balbero - Dainty Damsel

Age: 21

Occupation: Freelance Editor/Graphic Artist

Who is your fashion inspiration?
- "I love Kendall Jenner! She can both pull off edgy  and classy in just about anything she wears. Talk about having the best of both worlds. At times I either want to be womanly or teensy-cutesy so she's my perfect muse!" 

What is your sense of style?

- "I can't say I have a particular sense of style because it differs, depending on my mood. Name it and I can go boyish, basic, girly even cartoonish! I meant, cosplay. Haha!"

3)  Paolo Lapid - Boy Next Door

Age: 25
Occupation: Entrepreneur

Who is your fashion inspiration?

- "Mateo Guidicelli and Robie Domingo. They can carry themselves well with a simple shirt and jeans on. Basics are a hit for me."

What is your sense of style?

- "Being a young entrepreneur, I would say I am in between hip, classy and rugged. Comfortable clothing is a must since I'm on the road a lot. But I also ensure that I look presentable during meetings."

4) Hanna Rose Tadiaman - Your Casual Gal

Age: 17

College Sophomore, Hotel and Restaurant Management

Who is your fashion inspiration?

- "Vanessa Hudgens, ofcourse! I admire her confidence a lot which obviously transcends through her clothes. She's not afraid to try something new and she can carry just about anything! Her casual street styles are my favorite."

What is your sense of style?

- "My wardrobe is full of anything functional. I am into simple tees and other basic clothing. Color is also fun! I don't have a particular rule in terms of hues. As long as I love it, I'll wear it. I am not exactly the "matchy matchy" type. You know what they say, life is too short to be safe and wear boring clothes."

5) Ma. Alyssa Lois Eugenio - The Classy Maiden

Age: 22

Occupation: Sales Executive

Who is your fashion inspiration?

- "My fashion inspiration is Camille Co. She can  pull off any style from casual, classy, formal, sporty even nerdy look."

What is your sense of style?

- "I love to always look simple but classy. White is my ultimate fave when it comes to clothes. For my usual casual days, I would go for a white button down and pair it with high waisted shorts. Plain or printed flowy dresses, crop tops and pencil skirts are my wardrobe essentials. I also love accessorizing! The right accessories accents almost any outfit."

6) Tristan Ron Tadiaman - Basic Dude

Age: 19

Junior college student, Nautical Transportation

Who is your fashion inspiration?

- "I consider Billy Crawford as my style master. His looks are simple, diverse and functional yet fun."

What is your sense of style?

- "I wear whatever is available in my closet. I would say my style reflects my kind of lifestyle which leads to simplicity and practicality. Shirts and sneakers are my bestfriends. Haha. Can't live without them."

7) Daniel Sabitero

Age: 20 

Working student 

Who is your fashion inspiration? 

- "The Style Chieftain, Vhong Navarro."

What is your sense of style?

- "As a working student, I consider my style to be always on the go. Adaptable and dynamic. For me, it doesn't matter what brand you have on as long as you wear it with confidence. Though clothes are essential, it's not bad to have a little fun by setting your own style rules."
