My Lost Art

I have been exposed from visual to performing arts ever since I was a kid. Singing or dancing in-front of a crowd was acceptable to the larger audience. However, I didn't get much support in appreciating lines and textures and explosion of colors. My playmates find me a bit weird back then.

I do not have formal training when it comes to drawing or painting. My delineating memory is being giddy ecstatic over crayons, a blank canvass or anything to that matter. I just drew, painted and try to be what I think was creative. Growing up, I started joining competitions and even represent my institution. Surprisingly, bagged either 1st, 2nd or 3rd place. I find freedom in painting.

I have stopped creating for the longest time until I stumbled upon my unused pastels. Coincidentally, I received a sketch pad as a gift on my birthday. It's been a while and so I started remembering the thing that I love. And boy, it was liberating!

I know that some of you are a way much better artist than I am. Maybe you even finished fine arts and may not find my work at a set standard. But hey! I love the imperfect depiction of a perfect picture that whipped pass my head. I interpret my dreams and put them in a canvass. So, these colors, abstract, figures or images are quite personal. It's like you being inside the deepest recesses of my psyche.

My emergency kit...

As my crayon glide on the roughly smooth surface of the pad and collide with the rest of the hues, my restless mind is flown to a tranquil alcove. And so, I am rather thankful for I was able to rediscover and pick up what I have lost.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my weirdness. Haha. Thank you as always for dropping by. I would love to know your hobbies, too! Do you also love to paint? Please let me hear it! Don't forget to leave your comments below. xoxo!

    1. Hi, Katty!

Wow! I would love to see your work <3 I also stopped painting for years... sort of "searching" for inspiration, when it's everywhere! Right infront of me even. LOL. I hope I get to see your masterpiece, soon! Thanks so much, Katty. I appreciate it a lot.
